Very fairly priced, really relaxed atmosphere. Just turn up and grab a pitch. Julian the owner wanders around and says hello.

The kitchen/ living area is perfect for a short stay and the bedrooms are perfect for a family of four. There was room in the master bedroom for a travel cot. The beds are really comfy and there is a separate shower/ bath which was handy for the children. We had a wonder round the farm to see the horses and were often followed by two very inquisitive turkeys. They didn’t worry us but some people might find them slightly alarming, it does mention in the guide book to let the hosts know if they cause any problems. Our daughter was really taken with Molly the dog, a very gentle, friendly retriever who also wonders freely round the farm. I originally booked the cottage due to its close proximity to lulworth cove and durdle door however after some research I realised that those beaches would be tricky to get down to with our 1 and 4 year olds. It didn’t matter as Weymouth is only a 20 min drive away. We also visited the sea life centre in Weymouth and farmer palmers petting farm about 30 mins away. Both worth a trip if you have children under 8. We had an Indian takeaway delivered through just eat one evening and picked up fish and chips from one... We had an Indian takeaway delivered through just eat one evening and picked up fish and chips from one of the many shops on the drive back from Weymouth to Winfrith on another evening. Everything you need to cook is provided too, we didn’t use the outside bbq but I understand coal can be purchased from the farm. We also ate at the red lion (5 min drive) on Father’s Day which was ok.
My only small grumbles are that we would have liked to sit outside in the evenings however the patio furniture is very tired and not very inviting. We would also liked to have had the hot tub however I didn’t realise there was only one available so it’s first come first served and it was already booked for our stay.
Julian and Anne were very pleasant hosts who were there if we needed anything but didn’t infringe on our stay. The hamper with bread, marmalade and eggs was a nice touch, thank you. Overall we were really satisfied with everything and had a lovely few days. Would recommend and I’m sure we will stay again. More read less

It could have done with a few more of the basic kitchen essentials such as a tin opener. Also it was a shame that we weren’t provided with the homemade bread and marmalade as advertised in the property description (although we did get some eggs). read less

The only sounds are nature and animals, it was total bliss to get away from the rat race. The position of the caravan was also perfect, next to sheep, lambs, horses and a turkey who was adorable. Lovely little touch leaving home baked bread, freshly laid eggs and some delicious home made marmalade which was waiting for us when we arrived. All essentials were there, everything was available that you could want. This was also in the perfect location to get to all beautiful nearby locations such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Monkey World - you really couldn't ask for a better location.
There was absolutely nothing we didn't like. read less

The caravan was positioned at the greatest spot in the field, with lovely views. The place was brilliant!
Winfrith is also a great base to explore the coast of Dorset, situated between Waymouth and Bournemouth.
Julian was just amazing at showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed at all times. We look forward to going back again soon!
Things were fantastic really and the only thing we would maybe add as something to improve would be the cleanliness of the cupboards within the caravan (a very minor thing, considering everything else! :)) read less
